Independent Historian

Gabriel Scott is an author and lecturer from Akron, Ohio.  He has experience working with youth of all ages, nationalities, and personalities. He has tutored youth in Math, English & Social Studies. He substitute taught in the Akron Public Schools system for kindergarten to twelfth grade and he was a youth development specialist for The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve in Akron. Gabriel has a poem titled “Thank You Lord” that was published in Famous Poets Of The Heartland of 2010. This book is the Souvenir’s Edition of the best poems written in the last 15 years from 2010 by Famous Poets Society and is recited on cd by John Campbell, a Shakespearean actor. He also wrote a book that was published in 2010 titled The “Chosen” Ones: Perception of Malcolm & Martin. It is a historical/ spiritual book that gives his perception of Malcolm X and Dr. King from a spiritual, logical, and motivational standpoint. It can be purchased online on sites such as, Google books,, etc. and is in selected libraries across the country. He is currently working on his second book. Gabriel also gives public speeches as a lecturer at grade schools, youth organizations and colleges. His interest is in the field of history, but mainly black history. His presentations focus on African diaspora, Slavery, Civil Rights Movement, and Black Biographies, which includes Unsung Innovators and Pioneers.
