Andrew Smith was born in Seattle in 2003 and is now a rising junior at The Bush School. He has long had an interest in history and aviation and is especially drawn to documentaries and other forms of historical depiction. From 2010 to 2012, he lived with his family in London, where he attended The Hampshire School and served as his class president. In 2020, after extensive study of American racial history and politics, he traveled with several teachers and fellow students to tour various important sites connected to the Civil Rights movement in Atlanta and Montgomery, where they met with local schools and educators. When not busy with his studies and working on BlackPast, Andrew enjoys playing soccer and watching football on TV.
