The Black Genealogy Research Group of Seattle is a membership-based organization that advances family history research and ancestral linage searches using primary documents like birth certificates, death certificates, and historical records that verify the facts. We look to the past (history) to see the future (our story).

BGRG was founded in 1992 by Edith Gibson Giles and Jacqueline E. A. Lawson. Our resources are our members, consisting of teachers, professors, engineers, and common folk who love, truth, justice, and correctness. This is why BGRG does research and genealogy.
