Tunnell, Harry

Harry Tunnell is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and serves on the Board of Directors for The History Center.  His research interests include “survival strategies” used by disenfranchised social groups to travel and conduct business in segregated and discriminatory societies.  He is a West Point graduate and he has a Master of Military Art and Science degree in History from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, which resulted in the award of the U.S. Army’s 5X Military Historian certification.  He is the author of two books, To Compel with Armed Force: A Staff Ride Handbook for the Battle of Tippecanoe, Red Devils: Tactical Perspectives from Iraq, several journal and conference papers, and he is also the sole inventor on two U.S. patents.
