Marta Cieslak received her Ph.D. in American Studies at the Department of Transnational Studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She also holds Master’s Degrees in Polish Literature and Language and in American Studies from the University of Warsaw. Her research interests evolve around the questions of migration, nation building, and national identities. In her academic work, she focuses on transnational connections between the United States and Poland. She has also taught courses in both American and Polish Studies at the University at Buffalo.
