Lisa Myers Bulmash is an arts blogger with interests in the performing and visual arts. She writes weekly posts for the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute in Seattle, exploring their programming from the perspective of a Puget Sound-area parent of color. Myers Bulmash graduated with an English Literature degree from the University of California Los Angeles, with an emphasis on literature created by women and people of color. She came to the Pacific Northwest as a reporter for KCPQ-TV, then as a reporter for Northwest Cable News.
Myers Bulmash is also a working visual artist, using paper, upcycled materials and acrylics as her mediums in collage and assemblage. Her work uses genealogical research into her family background, as well as the history of African Americans and people of mixed race. Her collages and assemblages have been exhibited in Seattle and Snohomish County galleries.
