Mary L. Williams is a career employee of the National Park Service and is the historian at Fort Davis National Historic Site, Texas. Ms. Williams received an undergraduate degree in Social Studies from Daemen College in Buffalo, New York and a master’s in History from the University of Connecticut. She has written numerous articles on various aspects of frontier military history. She is the editor of An Army Wife’s Cookbook, a publication containing recipes, household hints and home remedies of Alice Kirk Grierson, the wife of the first colonel of the 10th U. S. Cavalry, Benjamin H. Grierson.
