Joshua B. Fisher holds a PhD in literature from the University of Washington. He teaches writing at Portland Community College and researches lesser known, overlooked, and forgotten aspects of Oregon history. He is the author of Echo of Distant Water: the 1958 Disappearance of Portland’s Martin Family (Trine Day, 2019) and co-author (with JD Chandler) of Portland on the Take (History Press, 2014). His writing has appeared in Willamette Week, Oregon Historical Quarterly, and the Slabtown Chronicle blog. He is currently working on a project about social justice and the emerging civil rights movement in mid-twentieth century Portland.
