Ben Wynne earned his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi after undergraduate work at Millsaps College. He currently serves as professor of history at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville, Georgia and his specialties include the American South and antebellum America. Among his published works are In Tune: Charley Patton, Jimmie Rodgers and the Roots of American Music (LSU Press, 2014), Mississippi’s Civil War: A Narrative History (Mercer Press, 2006) and A Hard Trip: A History of the 15th Mississippi Infantry, 1861-1865 (Mercer Press, 2003).
