Thomas, Carol

Carol Thomas.jpg
Carol Thomas is Professor of History at the University of Washington, Seattle.  Her major focus of teaching and scholarship is Greece, initially ancient Greece through its inclusion in the Roman Empire.  Recently, with the development of the Hellenic Studies Program, which she chaired for nine years, it has expanded to include modern Greece.  Her book with Wiley Blackwell, Greece:  A Short History of a Long Story, 7000 BCE to the Present, will be available in September 2014.  Her earlier seventeen books as well as her scholarly articles are based on the belief that an understanding of the past requires use of all available types of evidence and recognition of changes in conclusions over time.
