Black Education, History, and Heritage Alliance (BEHHA)

Mission:
The Black Education, History, and Heritage Alliance (BEHHA) exists to foster the collaboration of our collective resources in education, history, culture, heritage, and genealogy, with a shared commitment to advancing knowledge that honors the rich lives, legacies, and stories of Black people in the State of Washington and the world.

Vision:
We seek to reimagine a healthy world that moves beyond racially hierarchical views to value equally the experiences of all people.

Collaboration, Access, Respect, Dialogue, Scholarship

BEHHA Membership Criteria:
Black Education, History, and Heritage Alliance (BEHHA) consists of Black-led member organizations that primarily and directly provide historical and cultural resources to the African American community of Washington State. Membership is limited to Black-led independent nonprofit organizations whose mission and values align with the ideal of BEHHA. Inclusion in BEHHA is determined solely by existing Alliance members. The Executive Directors of Alliance organizations comprise the board of BEHHA.

Associate Membership is available to all other organizations who in the view of BEHHA are supporters of its mission. Associate Members however cannot participate in the governance of BEHHA.
